A body was pulled from the Anacostia River in Southeast DC, officials confirmed.

On Thursday, June 22, DC Fire and EMS personnel were called to the river near the boat ramp at Anacostia Park SE to investigate reports of a body in the water.

Following a brief investigation, officials confirmed the rescue effort was actually a body recovery, and the incident is under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department.

No information about the victim has been released by investigators.
